Tracing 
 

• At Mac Investigation we can help you trace missing friends/family members, probate beneficiaries, witnesses, old business clients or directors, tenants who have absconded, as well as those individuals who have skipped out leaving a debt behind.

• There are two elements to a trace, the first is electronic tracing, this is the most cost effective, as it is mainly office based.  We use several credit and consumer databases to link debtors from their previous addresses to their most recent addresses, or from business to personal addresses.   To confirm residency, we use telephone and postal contact methods under pretext.  We use several separate service providers to give the strongest possible indication of residency.

• The second type of tracing is field trace, this leads on from electronic tracing.  Once we have sourced addresses from an electronic trace and we can not confirm the residency from desktop and telephone work, we will physically attended at address and make local enquires, all under pretext, so that the individual / debtor is not alerted.  This method of tracing is more timing consuming and slightly more expensive than electronic, however the outcome is more advantageous to you the client.  A field trace can often lead to us making the first line of contact with the subject on your behalf.

• Not only can we trace those clients who have skipped on their payments, we can trace more contact information or more up to date contact information for you for your existing clients, to give you peace of mind.

• We recognise that time is crucial in debt recovery, once you notice there is a problem with a client, and you can no longer contact them, the sooner you pass the problem unto us the better, field traces are more efficient the sooner you act. 

• When instructing us to under take a trace the more information that you can provide us with the better, any small detail can help.  Its is often the small details that you may feel are irrelevant that help solve the bigger puzzle.

• We work with our clients on a case by case basis and work out the best option for the trace and a feasible tariff for each.
